There isn't much to do about this, but typically we have seen better results with higher quality KVM devices. Slight voltage fluctuations may disconnect your wireless devices occasionally, especially while idling or switching.A KVM Switch with Transparent USB -USB without any kind of emulation- is more likely to support wireless devices natively without having to use a separate USB Hub port. There is no de-facto standard when choosing a KVM switch for use with wireless devices, however the following is a general list of things to keep in mind when choosing the appropriate KVM: While 'Emulated USB' is typically the root problem, there are various other factors that may cause issues. Things to consider when choosing a KVM Switch for use with Wireless Keyboard & Mouse Unless a manufacturer states explicit support for a Wireless Keyboard and Mouse model, we are unable to guarantee compatibility in a specific environment. These steps may not work for your application. When using a Wireless Keyboard & Mouse with a KVM Switch port switching will typically have to be done using the physical port selection buttons on the KVM unit, an On-Screen-Display menu, or a separate wired keyboard. Response delay after subsequent switches usually takes 4-5 sec. After initial connection, wireless keyboard response may take 10-15 sec. The KVMs USB specification must be USB 2.0 or greater USB 1.0 doesn’t have enough bandwidth to support 2 wireless HID devices from 1 port.

While this emulation works great for wired devices, wireless devices use a different data transfer protocol that is not compatible. This feature is known as 'Emulated USB' or 'Emulated Mouse & Keyboard'. In order to support Hot-Key operation and uninterrupted keyboard-mouse function while switching, most KVM Switches have a chip that constantly buffers (reads) signals from the keyboard and mouse, and transfers any button presses to the connected computer.

The TV is a Toshiba 49L621U, the cable box is a Motorola DCX3200, and the receiver is a Yamaha RX-V579.Connecting Wireless Keyboard / Mouse to a KVM Switch
Sometimes, when it switches back to HDMI 1, there is no audio until I change the channel, and then change it back. When the TV turns on it is already on HDMI 1, and stays there momentarily, then switches to HDMI 2, then switches back to HDMI 1. I have the settings so that the TV is supposed to be on HDMI input 1. When I use the "Watch TV" activity the TV and cable box turn on properly, but the TV switches HDMI inputs. I set up the remote without issue (initially just for the TV and cable box, receiver was added later). I am using an IR extender/relocator for my Yamaha receiver and cable box as I have them hidden away inside a cabinet for a very clean, wire-free set up (this has been quite the project for me as I'm not overly handy). I recently purchased a secondhand 650 for my living room set up. My apologies if this issue has already been addressed, but I wasn't able to find any threads regarding it.
